Model MF2228 is a flapper solenoid that utilizes a hinged plate in conjunction with a solenoid coil to attract the plate when the solenoid is energised.

When the solenoid coil is de-energised, the return/release spring mechanism on the rear of the plate will release the flapper plate back to it's original position.
